Of course, after I go through all this, I realized that one of my Milani's is called "Quick Teal". *sigh* I need to organize my stash.

ABC Challenge: Q is for Q-Tip Manicure
I spent all week thinking I didn't have a single Q polish, so I decided to do something with nail art.
I was actually REALLY happy with how this mani turned out. I used Milani's Instant Pearl and then dabbed Essie's Turquoise and Caicos on a Q tip, and rolled it over my nails. The result is a subtle watercolor manicure. The problem? It doesn't photograph well AT ALL. After about an hour of trying, I gave up and just picked the best of the worst. It's really a shame, because in person it's such a sweet peppermint candy manicure.

What a neat idea!! It looks so pretty, like clouds. I can see the water color look. I can't wait to try this.
ReplyDeleteThey really are like clouds. So pretty!
DeleteI was wondering what you were going to do when you commented on FB about using a Q-tip. This is a pretty cool idea. When I tilt my laptop screen at a REALLY extreme angle, I can see the effects surprisingly well - I really like this.
ReplyDeleteThanks. ^_^ It worked out much better than I anticipated. Haha.
Delete"Of course, after I go through all this, I realized that one of my Milani's is called "Quick Teal". *sigh* I need to organize my stash."-you're cracking me up lol
ReplyDeleteI love the idea here and I'm definitely going to give it a try! Did you have any trouble with the cotton fibers sticking to the polish?
I thought I would, but I really didn't. I just dabbed a good deal of polish on it, let it sink in, and then dabbed a little more and blew on it to make it a little sticky so it would be textured. I'm going to try this again tomorrow with more colors and see how it turns out.
DeleteVery pretty and such a great idea! I see myself trying this in the future!
ReplyDeleteI love this mani, so delicate and pretty! And I agree with Dionne, it reminds me of clouds. :)
ReplyDeleteAww I love it and what a great idea to use the Q tip! :)
ReplyDeleteI hate it when manis do not want to cooperate with the camera. I know how it feels! I'm sure this mani was amazing irl because I love it in the photo already!
ReplyDeleteYes I can see the watercolor effect too, it's lovely!
ReplyDeletePeppermint candy sounds good!

ReplyDeleteIt's very pretty, Ketlyn! Thanks for the Q-tip "tip"....I'm going to give it a shot, one day soon!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea and a pretty manicure! It really sucks when you have an awesome manicure and then you just can't capture it properly. Annoys the living crap out of me when that happens.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant!!! You def have talent in nail arts. Love the idea and the colors used. Great job!
